Ipevo Skype Phone August 25, 2010 Irishham Very easy to set up and use. The screens mimic Skype and are therefore easy to use. Like the phone very much with one exception: The battery will not hold a charge overnight, consequently, I have to leave it in it's charging cradle. (this is without any use of the phone!)
Good phone, but poor battery life August 24, 2010 Brian V Park There have been several reviews here that indicated the battery life lasts for 3-5 days on stand by, but that is false. I ordered this phone and charged it to 100% before use, but it went dead in 24 hours. I charged it again and it went dead again in 24 hours. So I thought it was just a defective device. I exchanged it on Amazon for another one and same thing happened. The battery just doesn't last longer than 24 hours, so I need to keep it charged all the time. The phone does feel very cheap because of the plastic and also because the phone itself is very light. However, the call quality is very good and the user interface is user-friendly. If you don't mind keeping it charged all the time, then I would recommend this phone. I'm only keeping this phone b/c my company is paying for it and there is no other better wireless Skype phone.
The Best Way to Experience Skype Calls! August 21, 2010 Frederick W. Chapman (Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA) I've been using my IPEVO SO-20 for over a week, and I'm very pleased with it. Before the SO-20, I made Skype calls on my computer with my webcam microphone and computer speakers, or with a USB headset. The SO-20 has been my best Skype experience by far. It's so much more convenient than using my computer, and the sound quality is great. The screen is big, bright, and beautiful. The cradle makes it totally hassle free to recharge the handset, and it looks good, too. The SO-20 is as easy to use as my mobile phone but has unlimited minutes and much lower fees. Thank you, IPEVO!
iPevo August 21, 2010 S. Ruddell (Santiago, Chile) Its a good little wifi phone. Please put a speaker phone option in the next version! Thanks!
IPEVO SO-20 replacing the Netgear SPH200D August 19, 2010 Edward A. Weissbard (El Paso, TX USA) I purchased the IPEVO SO-20 to replace my Netgear SPH200D Skype wi-fi phone, which also was a very good phone. With IPEVO SO-20 a separate external box, like one that is required with the Netgear SPH200D, is not needed. All one needs is to connect directly to your own personal wi-fi router or any public wi-fi signal that is either open or the secure password is known for the hotspot. One flaw is that connecting to a public wi-fi signal requiring web-based login or authentication would not be possible, due to the phone not having a built in web browser. The only other option that is not available on the SO-20 is the lack of a speakerphone, which the Netgear SPH200D did have, and which I do miss. Overall the quality and performance of the calls are excellent, a definite improvement over the Netgear SPH200D in quality and performance.
